公司是国家农药重点骨干企业，2001年在上海证券交易所上市。公司共有南通本部、贵州江山、江山宜昌、南通联膦、哈利民五个生产基地。业务涵盖热电、氯碱化工、农药及中间体、新材料(阻燃剂、水处理剂、纳米新材料)，公司三废治理配套设施完善，拥有独立的长江货运码头。公司是石油和化工行业及江苏省绿色工厂、国家首批生物育种产业化示范企业、中国农药行业首家国家级清洁生产示范企业、中国石油和化学工业“责任关怀”首批试点企业、中国农药工业首批HSE合规企业、首批通过草甘膦环保核查的农药生产企业。公司先后荣获全国质量管理先进企业、全国五一劳动奖状、全国守合同重信用企业、中国石油和化学工业先进集体、全国禁化武先进集体、建国60周年中国农药工业突出贡献奖、农药行业植保科技服务下乡十佳企业、“十三五”石油和化工行业节能先进单位等称号。江山商标是国家重点培育和发展的出口品牌。公司主要产品采用联合国粮食及农业组织(FAO)标准，先后荣获中国名牌产品、国家级新产品、国家重点新产品、江苏省重点名牌产品等称号，被列入重点保护产品目录。公司建有博士后科研工作站、江苏省企业技术中心、江苏省绿色除草剂工程技术研究中心、江苏省企业院士工作站。公司先后承担10多项国家科技攻关计划、科技支撑计划和国家863计划项目。公司一直致力于可持续发展的持续改进，积极倡导清洁生产、循环利用、节能减排、责任关怀的理念。公司已通过质量、信息安全、环境、职业健康安全、能源、测量、知识产权等7大管理体系认证。
