公司是一家专门从事贵金属新材料研发制造和资源循环利用的省属国有控股整体上市高科技企业集团。其前身为始建于1928年的“国立中央研究院工程研究所”，历经多次改制与发展，于2022年在云南省属国企中率先实现整体上市。公司拥有国内唯一贵金属领域系列核心技术和完整创新体系，承担国家科研项目累计3000余项，多项成果填补国内空白。拥有多个国家级、省部级创新平台及院士工作站，在云南国企中首家建立国家重点实验室，成功重组贵金属功能材料全国重点实验室，首批建设云南贵金属实验室，实现了“产学研用”深度融合。公司坚持四个面向，发展贵金属新材料制造、贵金属资源开发及循环利用、贵金属供给服务三大板块，聚焦国防工业、环境保护、新能源化工、生命健康、新一代信息技术五大应用，服务清洁空气、绿色化工、电子电气、芯片封装、新能源、生物医疗、先进材料、资源循环利用、高纯精炼及矿产资源十大领域，是我国在贵金属领域成果转化和产业发展的关键力量。公司形成年制造贵金属新材料2000吨，年回收铂族金属40吨、黄金30吨、白银2200吨能力，以及400多个品种、4000多种规格的系列化产品集群，为客户提供全产业链一站式服务。公司培育了多家国家级制造业单项冠军企业、专精特新“小巨人”企业、国家技术创新示范企业及高新技术企业，拥有多个国家级“绿色工厂”。以扩绿、节能、降碳、减污、减排为重点，建设绿色工厂、零碳园区，加速布局光伏、新型绿色化工、氢储能等关键业务领域，实现稀贵金属产业绿色低碳可持续发展。
