公司历史悠久，最早发源于1935年湖北省公路局兴建的宜昌汽车站；1998年组建为宜昌交运集团有限责任公司，2008年整体改制为股份有限公司；2011年于深圳证券交易所中小企业板上市；2021年，公司全称变更为现名，证券简称变更为“三峡旅游”，是湖北省道路运输行业首家上市公司和宜昌市旅游产业发展领军企业。近年来，三峡旅游聚焦主业、有进有退、交旅融合，依托世界级旅游资源和经营优势，重点发展游轮旅游产业，实施资本与实业双轮驱动，其中“两坝一峡”“长江夜游”成为长江三峡区域独特的精品旅游线路，发展形成“车、船、港、站、社、景”旅游要素齐全的产业体系。具备较强的对外输出能力，已在南京长江行、重庆巅峰双峡、全国旅游目的地进行游轮品牌输出管理。未来，三峡旅游将立足“一区”带动、“一带”联动和“一流域”拉动总体布局，致力成为长江三峡旅游主导者、中国内河游轮旅游领航者，为宜昌世界级旅游目的地建设贡献更大力量。
