公司是大型国有企业广西北部湾国际港务集团控股上市公司。公司原名北海港股份有限公司、北海新力实业股份有限公司，成立于1989年，1995年在深圳证券交易所挂牌上市，成为中国港口行业及广西最早的上市公司之一。2013年实现钦北防三港整体上市，后更名为北部湾港股份有限公司。三港整体上市后，公司成为全国率先完成区域港口一体化的企业，是广西沿海主要的公共码头投资运营商。近年来，公司强化经营管理，深化改革创新，推动港口转型升级，紧抓“一带一路”、西部陆海新通道、北部湾国际门户港、国际枢纽海港等国家战略发展机遇，全力构建“向海经济”新格局。公司经营业务包含货物装卸、港口仓储、港口拖轮、外轮理货、无船承运等，经营范围主要覆盖广西南宁市、钦州市、防城港市、北海市等。公司北靠渝、云、贵，东邻粤、港、澳，西接越南，南濒海南岛，地处华南经济圈、西南经济圈与东盟经济圈的结合部，是中国西南地区最具经济优势的出海通道。独特的地理区位优势让公司成为西南地区和东盟国家最便捷的海陆连接节点。
