公司创建于1992年，主要生产智能型500kV及以下电压等级的发、输、变、配开关柜、变压器及其元器件，电网一二次融合类产品，光储超充预装式配电站，以智能箱式变电站为主的光伏、风力发电设备，交、直流智能充电桩(站)等产品。公司拥有7家子公司。公司是国家重点高新技术企业、国家级知识产权示范企业，拥有国家企业技术中心、国家博士后科研工作站、变压器能效实验室，以及多个省级研发平台。公司先后承担国家重大电力装备自主化、新型电力电子器件产业化、战略性新兴产业、能源装备技改、智能装备制造等国家重点项目。公司研制的KYN28A、ZNZ6等十多项产品在荷兰KEMA实验站通过完整型式试验，获得“Complete”级认证证书。2018年获得由国家核安全局颁发的《民用核安全设备设计许可证》和《民用核安全设备制造许可证》。目前公司拥有2,000多项专利授权，其中发明专利200多项。2024年度，公司紧抓新能源行业高速发展、电网投资加速增长的机遇，持续聚焦输变电设备制造主业，深入实施大集团客户营销战略和“铁三角”营销模式，大力拓展电网、清洁能源发电(风电、光伏、核电等)、石油化工、充电桩等领域市场，并通过提高生产效率、推进精益化管理等有效措施，推动公司整体运营质量和综合盈利能力持续提升。
