公司始创于1989年，从精细化工行业起步，经过30多年的发展，现已发展成为一家业务覆盖纺织化学品、皮革化工品、石油精细化学品以及科技孵化产业园运营等多个领域的高新技术企业。公司于2006年在深圳证券交易所上市　在精细化学品领域，业务主要包括纺织化学品、皮革化学品、有机硅及功能整理剂、防水剂和涂层整理剂、合成革水性材料等。公司自主开发匀染剂、固色剂、有机硅等系列纺织化学品，先后被认定为广东省级重点新产品及国家级重点新产品。2014年，公司技术中心被认定为“国家认定企业技术中心”，公司还拥有博士后工作站、院士专家工作室、省级工程技术中心等创新平台，是行业内综合实力较强的技术型企业之一。在石油精细化学品领域，以德荣化工为平台，与浙石化合作发展乙烯裂解副产品综合利用项目。通过对石油炼化裂解C5、C9副产资源中的异戊二烯、间戊二烯和环戊二烯进行再加工，转化为一系列高附加值的衍生品，广泛应用于油漆、油墨、胶黏剂、压敏胶等行业。在产业园区运营和服务领域，公司创建的德美新材料创新科技园是一个集孵化加速、产学研合作、科技金融等一体的综合型科技创新服务促进平台。2016年，德美新材料创新科技园被评为“国家级科技企业孵化器”“国家认定众创空间”，是广东省中小企业创新创业示范基地、顺德区知识产权平台、顺德区创业孵化基地和顺德区大学生创业基地，是广东顺德地区首获科技部、省科技厅、市科技局三A级孵化器运营评价园区。
